SFA AWARD
Air Force JROTC Cadet Major Grayce Washington of Jackson Memorial HS, Jackson, NJ, was presented the Award of Excellence for her leadership and dedication at their Military Ball. Chapter President Myles Cappiello, Chapter Vice-President John Wilson and past President Lawrence Taylor Sr. presented the award.
Leadership Dinner
On April 30th, Chapter 19 members attended the AUSA’s Leadership Dinner and presented the SFA Cadet of Excellence Medal to Rutgers University’s Army ROTC Cadet Ethen Voloshchuk and Seton Hall University’s ROTC Cadet Olivia Adamson. Also in attendance was AUSA’s officers, LTC Sarah Bernal, Charles Seal., Meagan Solomon and Brigadier General Yvonne Mays, the New Jersey Adjutant General.
Jewish War Veterans Breakfast
On Sunday, May 4, 2025, Chapter members attended the Jewish War Veterans 43rd Annual Legislative Breakfast in Toms River, NJ. Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ) was to awarded the JWV Legislator of the Year award, but 3 weeks prior to the award ceremony, Kim voted in the Senate not to fund Israel because of the situation in Gaza. The JWV’s decided to withdraw his award due to Kim’s non-support of Israel, and no award was presented. However, the breakfast, attended by Veteran Groups of VFW, American Legion, SFA and others turned out to be a fantastic networking event for the organizations.
