Herbert L. Hoff
Herbert L. Hoff of Upper Black Eddy, P.A., died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 86.
He was a devoted husband of Arlene S. (Schaible) Hoff.
He was born April 23, 1930, in Flushing, N.Y., to the late Franklin R. and Leona (Judd) Hoff.
Herbert entered the U.S. Army after graduating from high school. He served our country faithfully in the Korean War and three tours in Vietnam as a Special Forces Green Beret. He retired after 24 years of service as a Command Sergeant Major. After retiring he and his wife moved from Fayetteville, N.C., to Upper Black Eddy, P.A.
Herbert was a 32nd Degree Mason.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Herbert L. Hoff Jr. (Ana E.) of North Hampton, James T. Hoff and his companion, Nadine Pursell, of Upper Black Eddy; brother Thomas F. Hoff of Remington, VA; four grand children; five great grand children; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Leona Estes.
His service will be held privately.
